An established industry player is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers to join their team in expanding Urgent Care coverage. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential care to pediatric patients. The position involves assessing and treating acute injuries, performing procedures, and collaborating with a dedicated medical team. With a mission to advance hope and healing for children and families, this organization fosters a culture of innovation and exceptional care. If you are passionate about making a difference in pediatric healthcare, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Phoenix Children's Hospital, established in 2002, has experienced tremendous growth over the past 20+ years. The Emergency Department at the main campus handles over 90,000 pediatric patients annually and is the only free-standing Level One Pediatric Trauma Center in the state. Located in Maricopa County, one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States, we have expanded our division, facilities, and training programs, including fellowships in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Urgent Care.
We are seeking to expand our Urgent Care coverage by hiring experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who are interested in working solely in Urgent Care or in a hybrid role combining Urgent Care and low-acuity Emergency Department shifts. Our current schedule includes staffing five Urgent Care centers from 5 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Providers evaluate and treat pediatric patients within their scope of practice under the supervision of the Medical Director.
Responsibilities include maintaining effective relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and volunteers. Our Urgent Care centers are equipped to perform plain radiographs, and labs include urinalysis, blood glucose testing, rapid strep, and rapid flu tests during winter months. COVID testing is available, but rapid tests are not at this time.
The role involves assessing and treating acute injuries and illnesses, performing procedures such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, or dermal adhesives. The focus is on improving flow, patient experience, and throughput through efficiency metrics.
