About the Position

An Associate Faculty primarily instructs undergraduate and/or graduate courses in specific disciplines, engaging with students to drive academic rigor and success. Responsibilities include delivering course content, providing a supportive learning environment, addressing student issues, and participating in faculty meetings and university events.

  • Deliver course content and assessments using current materials, sharing supplemental knowledge to connect concepts with real-world applications.
  • Maintain an engaged classroom presence, respond promptly to inquiries, and support student development.
  • Perform duties such as coaching, tutoring, overseeing clinical/practicum experiences, and attending faculty meetings.
  • Stay current with university policies, standards, and content updates.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through employment, certifications, conferences, publications, and networks.
  • Adapt to technology changes to facilitate online instruction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Note: Responsibilities may vary, and specific goals will be outlined in performance objectives.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have experience with adult and geriatric populations, and hold relevant nursing degrees and certifications, including active RN license, APRN certification, and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Must have at least 2 years of current experience within the last 5 years in a clinical setting managing adult and geriatric patients.

  • Experience with adult education teaching and learning theory.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online teaching technologies.
  • Professional image and community representation skills.

Pay Range

Per course basis, between $1,035 and $3,686; in CA, the hourly rate is $31.25.
