Role and Responsibilities

An established, physician-owned private pediatric practice in Lafayette, Indiana is hiring a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing team. You will provide full-scope pediatric primary care from newborn through age 22, seeing roughly 20 to 25 patients a day in a four-day work week with no call of any kind. If you want to practice good pediatric medicine and still have a life outside the clinic, that is the entire premise of this role.

Why you'll love this opportunity

The schedule is the headline. Four days a week, approximately 32 clinical hours, with a weekday off every single week. No after-hours call, no hospital call, and no newborn nursery responsibilities. There is one evening clinic per week until 7:00 PM and one Saturday morning clinic roughly once a month from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. That is the whole commitment. The compensation reflects full-time work for a four-day schedule. Base salary runs $120,000 to $130,000 depending on experience, with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available. Indiana license and DEA registration costs are reimbursed. Benefits are genuinely comprehensive.

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with a 4 percent employer match after one year.
  • 15 paid vacation days, 8 paid holidays, and 5 paid CME days with a $2,000 annual CME allowance.
  • Malpractice coverage is fully paid.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care from newborn through age 22.
  • Perform well-child visits and same-day sick visits across a panel of roughly 20 to 25 patients per day.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
  • Educate patients and families on preventive care, growth and development, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate closely with the physician owner and fellow providers to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
Required Qualifications
  • Board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-BC or CPNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • Eligible for Indiana APRN or PA licensure.
  • Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain before start date.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and families.
  • A genuine team orientation. This is a small practice and collaboration is not optional.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of pediatric clinical experience.
  • The right new graduate will absolutely be considered.
  • Family Nurse Practitioners with substantial pediatric experience are welcome to apply.
  • Interest in building a long-term career rather than filling a next step.
  • The practice is growing and wants someone to grow with it.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary of $120,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available.
