A Tellihealth Pediatric Health Triage Nurse assesses patient needs, evaluates symptoms, and provides telephonic triage services to patients which includes answering patient inquiries, offering medical advice, and determining the urgency and appropriate course of action. Triage nurses establish relationships with patients and build trust and credibility with them and their families by being a key part of the patient's care team, communicating directly with providers and in-office staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Will handle pediatric triage calls and will also assist in general triage coverage.
- Utilize technology to help manage patient’s condition, gather educational resources, coordinate patient care, and maintain patient care goals.
- Recognize when additional communication or intervention is required to address ongoing patient issues.
- Apply expertise when following a provider's care plan by assisting the patient in knowing how to prioritize their health and helping the patient communicate their condition and symptoms.
- Serve as an advocate for patients by finding answers to questions while also resolving their medical challenges quickly and efficiently.
- Delve into rich conversations and bond with patients, understanding their unique personalities and challenges.
- Establish and nurture trust with new patients and their families.
- Act as a vital link within the patient's care team by communicating seamlessly with providers and in-office staff.
- Guide patients in prioritizing their health and understanding their conditions.
- Advocate for patients, providing answers and addressing medical concerns promptly.
- Use technology to manage and coordinate care.
- Gather resources for continuity of care.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to review patient office visits, liaise with care team members and accurately document actions taken for patients.
Requirements:
- Active & unrestricted RN license in Pennsylvania or multi-state, required.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program, required.
- 3 years of clinical experience, required.
- 2 years of experience working in an ER, ICU, MedSurg, urgent care, and remote triage setting required.
- 1 year of pediatrics experience, required.
- Minimum upload speed of 12 mbps and download speed of 20 mbps, required.
- Ability to work from home in a HIPAA compliant environment, required.
- Proficient using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
