Job summary

Cook Children’s in Fort Worth, TX seeks an NP/PA for the CARE Team to manage medically complex pediatric cases in a private office setting. The role performs autonomous assessments and collaborates with physicians to ensure continuity of care.

Clinicians will cover physicians, prescribe modalities as needed, and supervise office staff. Master’s degrees in nursing or PA Studies are required; Texas APRN/PA licenses and CPR are mandatory, with PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurses required.
• Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN).
• Current Texas professional registered nurse license and APRN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in private office setting for medically complex patients.
• Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols.
• Supports physician to develop and maintain patients and collaborates with specialties for continuity of care.
• Provides office coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence.
• Prescribes modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority.
• Supervises private office clinical personnel as needed.
