Job summary

The Columbia Department of Neurology Scarsdale Satellite seeks a Nurse Practitioner to support a General Child Neurology Practice with a focus on epilepsy. Work will involve outpatient care for pediatrics under supervision of attending physicians.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 5 years of experience.
• New York State NP and RN license by date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Taking medical histories and performing physical examinations in outpatient office as well as inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit.
• Coordinating workup of patients which may include hospital admission.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Prescribing medications and managing patients by telephone as appropriate.
• Seeing selected patients in routine follow-up appointments, and for urgent same or next-day office visits under the supervision of an attending physician.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary services; coordinating and facilitating patient education, and assisting with completion of forms/letters and responding to patient messages.
• Assisting when clinical coverage is needed.
