Job summary
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for IPU-B, a neurodevelopmental inpatient unit serving children and adolescents with ASD and related conditions in crisis.
The role emphasizes safe, structured, therapeutic care and family involvement. Qualified candidates hold a BSN (or ASN with commitment to complete BSN in 12 months), current Illinois RN license, BLS, and preferably pediatric or behavioral health experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Nursing required; Associates may be considered with plan to pursue BSN within 1 year
- Strong communication with patients, families and healthcare team is essential
- Pediatric and psych experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs nursing assessments using established tools and area-specific plans of care
- Develops and updates care plans with family input; documents changes
- Delivers patient/family teaching and supports learning needs
- Coordinates with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care
- Maintains current nursing practice and contributes to quality initiatives
