Qualifications

• MT-BC board certification required.
• BLS certification or within 30 days.
• At least 1 year of music knowledge/skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff to identify care needs.
• Demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
• Orients patients and families to the Music Therapy program; assesses learning needs and participation ability.
• Develops age-specific and culturally appropriate treatment plans.
• Integrates knowledge from other disciplines into the treatment plan.
• Organizes and implements group music therapy interventions with the interdisciplinary team.
• Assists with inventory, maintenance and ordering of supplies.
• Orients students, visitors, and new staff to the department and pediatric burn care philosophy.
• Aids in supervision of child life volunteers and assistants.
