Shriners Children’s in Boston seeks a Music Therapist to provide therapeutic music interventions for pediatric patients and families in a hospital setting, addressing physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs. You will collaborate with nurses, therapists and other staff to develop individualized treatment plans and participate in program education for families.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, evidence-based practice, and a commitment to pediatric burn care across our nationwide

Competenze

Music Therapy Board Certified (MT-BC).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days

Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff to identify patient care needs demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
Orients patient and family to the Music Therapy program.
Assesses the family's and patient's learning needs and ability to participate in program.
Develops and follows age specific and culturally appropriate treatment plans based on standards of Music Therapy and individual needs.
Integrates knowledge and skills gained from other staff members into the treatment plan.
Organizes and implements therapeutic group interventions for all patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Assists with inventory, maintenance and ordering of departmental supplies.
Orients students, visitors, and new staff to the department and its philosophy in pediatric burn care.
Aids in supervision of child life volunteers and assistants.
