Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Music Therapist I to join our pediatric rehabilitation team and provide music therapy services at UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. You’ll work with a collaborative pediatric therapies team to help children cope, connect, and heal while growing your skills alongside colleagues who care deeply about kids, families, and each other.

The position focuses on evidence-based music intervention, trauma-informed practice, family partnership, and a holistic approach

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy including an internship.
• Certified Music Therapist by the Board of Music Therapists; BLS within 3 months of hire.
• NICU-MT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides chart reviews and comprehensive patient assessments per provider orders; develops a plan of care with short and long-term goals.
• Implements individualized patient treatment plans with group and/or individual interventions.
• Documents and reports response to interventions; reassesses progress and adjusts goals.
• Collaborates with patient/family and treatment team for discharge and transition planning.
• Precepts and teaches for students and staff under supervision of a clinical specialist.
