You will train residents and staff while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and capable of handling instruments and documentation with care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in chemical or biological sciences.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory sciences or medical laboratory technology with 60 credit hours, including 24 hours in related labs.
• Qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR regulations for high complexity testing, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Follows lab testing procedures for routine and specialized tests and identifies problems.
• Applies scientific method to problem solving and assists in evaluating new methods.
• Ensures quality control criteria are met and handles hazardous substances safely.
• Records documentation to comply with regulations and performs instrument maintenance.
• Instructs and trains rotating residents, students, physicians and new staff as needed.
• Keeps work area clean and maintains supplies at each workstation.
• Assists in developing and evaluating new procedures and protocols.
• Performs duties with focus on service excellence, innovation and teamwork.
• Completes competency testing and continuing education requirements.
