Job summary

UnityPoint Health is hiring a Mental Health Specialist (MHS) in Madison, WI. The position is 0.7 FTE with a schedule of Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri and Wed shifts, providing direct care in a pediatric psychiatric milieu.

Starting compensation is $21.20 per hour, commensurate with experience. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science and at least one year in a child/adolescent mental health setting, plus CPI training within 90 days of hire. UnityPoint Health offers a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a mental health care setting for children/adolescents.
• CPI Training within 90 days of hire.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for patients in the psychiatric milieu.
• Intervene in real time to maintain safety of patients and staff.
• Report assessment data to RN and multidisciplinary team.
