Job summary

Sunny Pediatric Services in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Billing & Finance Coordinator to oversee Medicaid and commercial insurance billing, authorizations, and payroll support. You will manage the full billing cycle in QuickBooks, monitor accounts receivable, and provide executive support to ensure timely reimbursement and accurate financial records.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with medical billing and claims processing.
• Experience billing Medicaid and commercial insurance payers.
• Degree or formal education in Medical Billing and Coding, Health Information Management, or related field.
• Experience with claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential patient and financial information.

Responsibilities

• Manage full medical billing cycle, including claim submission, posting, corrections, and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Investigate billing denials, resolve claim rejections, and appeal claims when appropriate.
• Monitor accounts receivable, outstanding balances, underpayments, and aging reports to support timely reimbursement.
• Obtain, submit, and track prior authorizations and service approvals for therapy services.
• Monitor authorization expiration dates, approved visits, service limits, and remaining units to prevent interruptions in care.
• Manage day-to-day financial record keeping through QuickBooks.
• Monitor income, expenses, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Assist with payroll preparation, expense tracking, and budget monitoring as assigned.
• Provide administrative and organizational support to the owner/executive.
• Assist with financial reports, spreadsheets, special projects, and operational tasks.
• Help maintain organized systems, records, and documentation.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist families with general inquiries when Front Desk Coordinator is absent.
