Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver clinical and administrative support in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will assist with patient intake, vital signs, lab processing, and preparation for imaging under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Prior pediatric experience preferred.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with computers and MS Office.
• Willing to learn medical software and electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Greet and register patients as they arrive
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for X-rays
• Perform and document routine labs (throat and urine cultures; venipuncture preferred)
• Irrigate and assist with wounds
• Assist in lab quality control testing
• Support patient care within physician supervision
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception supplies
• Keep waiting area clean and orderly
• Follow safety practices and precautions
• Assist in emergencies and notify medical team as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Explore opportunities to add value and take ownership of tasks
• Assist patients with complaints and service recovery
• Help with splints and assist nurse/provider in procedures
• Provide exceptional patient and family services
