Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and front desk in a pediatric urgent care setting. Under physician supervision, you will assist with patient intake, vital signs, and basic care within scope of practice.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining medical history, preparing patients for X-rays, performing basic labs, assisting with wound care, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience or education as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric EKG placement and processing.
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional, friendly demeanor with strong organizational skills.
• Prior pediatric experience preferred.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office; willing to learn medical software.
• Experience with medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat and urine cultures; venipuncture when needed).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab.
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
• Be part of the patient care team and assist within scope of practice.
