Job summary

PM Pediatric Care in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will assist physicians with primary patient care, greet patients, take histories and vitals, and help with labs and imaging preparation.

The role requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and prior Medical Assistant experience. Strong communication and multi-tasking skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience or education preferred.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and pediatric care beneficial.
• Ability to obtain lab samples and perform basic procedures.
• Professional, friendly demeanor with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat and urine cultures; venipuncture experience preferred).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Be part of the patient care team and assist within scope of practice.
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies.
• Maintain waiting room cleanliness and organization.
• Practice standard safety practices and precautions.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist with service recovery and handle complaints as needed.
• Assist with splints and other procedures as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
