Job summary

Seattle Children’s is seeking a Medical Assistant to support point-of-care testing, diabetes device data uploads, and patient procedures in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Responsibilities include clerical tasks, chart preparation, and assisting with clinic operations and workflow. Candidates must have a DOH-certified Medical Assistant credential and a current BLS certification; interim allowed up to 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Current Medical Assistant – Certified designation by Washington DOH; Interim Certification acceptable for up to 12 months.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform point of care testing including hemoglobin A1C testing and microalbumin testing, and point of care glucose monitoring.
• Responsible for diabetes device data uploads into the electronic health record including pump therapy data and continuous glucose monitoring data.
• Perform individualized patient procedures, treatment and tests.
• Perform associated clerical tasks including chart preparation, stocking clinic supplies and answering telephones.
• Provide advanced assistance with medical clinic operations and monitoring of clinic flow.
• Perform back-office duties including, but not limited to, relay of lab results, pend prescription refill requests, and assist with prior authorizations.
