Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution.
• Certifications in Medical Assisting, EKGs and Phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Computer skills including EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules, organize patient flow, room patients.
• Collect patient history including medications and reason for visit, chart in EMR, relay information.
• Check vital signs (BP, pulse, temp), measure height and weight, take EKGs.
• Set up equipment, maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, order supplies.
• Assist with minor procedures, handle specimens, do CLIA waived tests.
• Send and receive medical records, obtain Lab & Test Results.
• Ensure patient results are reviewed by physician in a timely manner, provide appropriate followup as directed.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines.
