Job summary

PM Pediatrics in Ashburn/Herndon, VA seeks a part-time Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks in a pediatric urgent care setting under physician supervision. You will greet patients, record histories, take vitals, prepare for X-rays, collect specimens, and assist with procedures while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, pediatric experience, strong communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EKG placement in children helpful.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Prior pediatric experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vitals, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat/urine tests).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds; support lab QC.
• Maintain exam rooms and waiting area; ensure safety and confidentiality.
• Assist with procedures and patient care under supervision.
