Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience or education preferred.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain lab tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Strong communications and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Greet and register patients on arrival
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for X-rays
• Perform and document routine labs such as throat and urine cultures
• Irrigate and assist with wounds
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab
• Be part of the patient care team within scope of practice
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies
• Maintain waiting room cleanliness
• Follow safety practices and precautions
• Assist distressed patients and notify medical team
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Support patient care improvements and value-added tasks
• Assist patients with complaints and participate in service recovery
• Assist nurse/provider in other procedures
• Provide exceptional customer services
