Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care is seeking Medical Assistants II for Pediatric clinics (General Pediatrics and Healthy Weight Clinic). Positions are 70-100% in North Dodge/Holiday Road and 50-100% in North Dodge Pediatric Healthy Weight Clinic, with ability to float to other locations as needed.

You will work under supervision, performing technical, patient care and clerical tasks in ambulatory settings and may use electronic records and office equipment to coordinate visits.

Qualifications

• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant, or completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant program.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication.
• EPIC experience is highly desired for Pediatric clinics.
• Pediatric clinic experience is desirable.
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Support Pediatric Clinic patients under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse.
• Perform technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
• Operate electronic medical record and standard office equipment as part of the patient visit.
• Collaborate with care team to coordinate all elements of patient care.
