Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) seeks a Medical Assistant (PEDI) to support pediatric provider care on-site in Austin, Texas. Under supervision, you will room patients, document vitals, and assist with routine exams and diagnostic testing using EPIC EMR.

The role includes managing medication refills, triage communications, lab result notifications, and maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Under close supervision of nursing leadership, supports provider practice by assisting with direct patient care duties.
• May perform diagnostic testing under supervision as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, takes and documents vital signs and prepares patients for provider exam.
• Administers medication under physicians direction and within the scope of practice.
• Performs diagnostic testing such as EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings as instructed and documents in EPIC EMR.
• Responsible for reviewing refill in basket and assisting with daily medication refill requests.
• Review EPIC triage call in basket for callbacks.
• Review result notes and inform patients of normal lab results.
• Ensure rooms are stocked and supplies current and within expiration dates.
• Clean patient rooms and handle dirty laundry properly.
• Stock laundry cart with fresh linens daily.
