Job summary

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide professional, family‑centered care to infants, children and adolescents under a clinician’s supervision. You will escort patients, document information, prepare medications, assist with procedures, and collect specimens with care.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or LPN/LVN/RN). Pediatric clinic experience and current BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of an LPN/LVN or RN program.
• Pediatric clinic experience and current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam room and document information.
• Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by a clinician.
• Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by clinician (e.g., hearing/vision tests, rapid strep, nebulizer treatments, urine catheterizations).
• Perform laboratory specimen collection and processing for accurate testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with all relevant laws, regulations and policies.
