Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital in Springdale is hiring a Medical Assistant for Specialty Clinics. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with supervision under a licensed provider to support pediatric ambulatory care.

Required: graduation from an accredited MA program (or 1 year MA work experience in lieu of). Entry-level role focusing on clinical and administrative tasks within family-centered care settings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or 1 year MA work experience in lieu of education.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and prepares them for examination, including obtaining vital signs, height/weight, and updating basic health information in the EHR.
• Administers medications and immunizations under provider order and within delegated scope of practice.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as delegated and in accordance with safety and competency standards.
• Conducts point-of-care testing and clinic-based diagnostics as delegated, documenting results per workflow.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and promptly notifies the provider, supporting safety protocols.
• Supports clinic flow by preparing exam rooms, managing supplies, and infection prevention standards.
• Documents delegated clinical tasks and patient education in EMR, including notes and orders.
• Supports quality initiatives and clinic improvement efforts.
• Reinforces provider instructions and distributes educational materials.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support safe patient care.
