Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited medical assistant program or 1 year MA work experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with pediatric care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and prepares them for examination, obtaining vital signs and updating health information in the EHR.
• Administers medications and immunizations under provider order and within delegated scope.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as delegated and per standards.
• Conducts point-of-care testing and clinic-based diagnostics as delegated.
• Notifies provider promptly of changes in patient condition for safety.
• Maintains clinic flow and infection prevention standards.
• Documents delegated tasks and patient education in EMR.
• Supports quality and population health initiatives.
• Distributes educational materials to patients and families.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
