Job summary

Wellcare Pediatrics in Whitestone, NY is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet patients, take vitals, prepare for visits and support providers during exams in a fast-paced pediatric setting. You will perform basic clinical tasks, manage patient flow, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and assist with administrative duties while delivering compassionate, team-driven care.

Candidates with 1–3 years of MA experience and familiarity with AthenaOne or Phreesia are preferred; high school diploma

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Medical Assistant and/or Medical Receptionist experience preferred.
• Experience with AthenaOne and/or Phreesia strongly preferred.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments.
• Pediatric or multi-site medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients while providing excellent customer service.
• Obtain vitals, update medical histories, and assist with patient intake.
• Prepare patients for visits and support providers during appointments as needed.
• Perform basic clinical duties including specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as applicable.
• Schedule appointments and assist with patient registration.
• Verify insurance, collect copays, and maintain accurate patient information.
• Support referrals, forms, scanning, and general administrative tasks.
