Job summary

PM Pediatric Care in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will work under physician supervision to assist with primary patient care and maintain a collaborative, patient-centered environment for families and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and experience as a Medical Assistant, with pediatric exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric EKG placement and processing is desirable.
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor required.
• Experience with medical records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs (throat and urine cultures; venipuncture experience preferred).
• Irrigate and assist with wounds and other minor procedures.
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies.
• Keep waiting room clean and organized; ensure patient confidentiality.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Assist with patient care within scope of practice under physician supervision.
