Job summary

Children’s Nebraska is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric patient care under RN/LPN supervision. You will perform treatments, administer medications and tests, collect vital signs, and assist with patient teaching in a busy pediatric clinic.

Responsibilities include coordinating diagnostics, documenting in the EMR, and ensuring accurate records. Valid MA program or NCMA with BLS is required; travel to CP or specialty clinics may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or NCMA certification is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to other CP or Specialty Clinics as needed; Nebraska Medication Aide Registry requirement if applicable; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing health status and delivering patient care under RN or LPN supervision.
  • Perform treatments, procedures, diagnostics and medication administration under a licensed practitioner.
  • Collect data on vital signs and growth during patient interviews.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and procedures with patients, physicians, hospitals and insurers as directed.
  • Assist physician or nurse practitioner in patient teaching and clinic protocols.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Respond appropriately in crisis or life-threatening emergencies.
  • Assist with clerical duties as directed by the office manager.
  • Maintain regular attendance as an essential job function.
