The UNC Hospitals Children’s Primary and Specialty Clinic in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Medical Assistant, Certified to join our team. The role supports pediatric primary care and adolescent medicine, with a schedule Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA or NCMA is required.
• Basic Life Support certification from AHA or ARC is required.
• Prior medical assistant or externship experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vitals, and collect data related to visit reason.
• Collect patient/family medical history and current medications.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
• Administer medications under provider direction and monitor patient response.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and sterilize instruments.
• Document information into the electronic medical record.
• Schedule tests, referrals, and coordinate with front desk for check-in/out.
