Job summary

Detroit Medical Center (DMC) RN Med Surg position at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit requires graduation from a nursing program with Michigan RN licensure and BLS. The role focuses on leadership, collaboration with physicians, and providing patient care for a group of patients and their families.

The DMC RN works with the nursing team to delegate and evaluate care, monitor progress, and prepare patients for discharge, reporting to senior unit management. Night shift details apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing is required.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan; BLS required.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication with care team.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegates, assesses, provides and evaluates patient care.
• Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities.
