Job summary

Boston Children\'s Health Physicians LLP is seeking a full-time LPN or RN for our Pediatric Office in Miller Place, NY. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with a sign-on bonus based on experience. New graduates are welcome and will be trained in-house.

Pay rate is approximately $28/hr–$35/hr depending on experience and licensure. Benefits include 401K, health, dental/vision, PTO, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license is required.
• Minimum 1 year pediatric experience preferred.
• New graduates welcome; in-house training provided.
• Location Miller Place, NY.
• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:00pm.
• Sign-On Bonus offered and benefits package available.

Responsibilities

• Takes patients vital signs, height and weight.
• Assists physician, prepares and stocks exam rooms.
• Assigns patients and physicians to exam rooms.
• Prepares daily assignment for medical support staff.
• Communicates with front desk staff as necessary.
• Provides nursing care, dressing wounds/incisions as directed.
• Assists physicians during patient exam.
• Prepares, administers and records medications per policy.
• Maintains supply of medications, immunizations and nursing supplies.
• Performs testing (spirometry, EKG, urinalysis).
• Triage phone calls and refer to physician when needed.
• Records information in patient charts accurately.
• Follow-up on diagnostic testing/lab results.
• Ensure test results are in patient chart.
• Cleans/sterilizes equipment; calls prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Maintains confidentiality per BCHP/HIPAA.
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
• Other duties to ensure smooth office function.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides direct and individualized nursing care, dressing wounds and incisions as directed by physician
• Assists physicians during patient exam
• Prepares, administers and records medications in accordance with division policy and procedure as directed
• Maintains appropriate supply of medications, immunizations and general nursing supplies
• Performs various testing which may include but not limited to - spirometry, EKG, urinalysis
• Triage phone calls answering basic questions and referring to physician when need arises.
• Records information concisely, accurately and completely in patient charts and/or on forms, etc
• Follow- up on diagnostic testing/lab results
• Ensure that test results are incorporated in patient chart
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment as necessary, calls prescriptions in to pharmacies
• Maintains strictest confidentiality of patient's records in accordance with BCHP policy and HIPAA regulations
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities accordingly.
• Other duties as necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the office

Position Requirements

Applicant must be computer literate and have excellent interpersonal skills. Current LPN or RN license is required. A minimum of 1 year Pediatric experience is preferred.
