Job summary

Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL, part of ScionHealth, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide age-appropriate direct patient care in pediatric units under RN supervision. The LPN will support assessments, administer medications, and contribute to patient education.

Candidates should have an accredited LPN program graduate, a valid Alabama LPN license, and BLS certification. Pediatric experience is preferred, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to work in pediatric age groups across neonates to adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient data to support RN assessments and planning.
• Deliver direct patient care, including hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and wound care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments under RN delegation.
• Accurately document care and patient responses in the medical record.
• Assist in development and implementation of care plans.
• Maintain infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team respectfully and effectively.
• Promote patient and family education related to diagnoses and treatment.
