The ideal candidate has fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for state licensure.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• ACGME-accredited pediatrics residency completed.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine completed.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
• Eligibility for active and unrestricted medical licensure in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic critical illnesses in pediatric patients.
• Provide advanced life support, including mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and vasoactive meds.
• Perform procedures like intubation, central line placement, arterial catheterization, lumbar punctures.
• Coordinate with subspecialists, nurses, and therapists for comprehensive care.
• Work with surgical teams to stabilize critically ill patients.
• Discuss diagnosis and prognosis with families compassionately and clearly.
• Mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric critical care.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
