Job summary

KidsPeace is seeking a Benefits Specialist to verify and update client medical insurance information for new admissions to our hospital and residential programs. You will post data to the electronic files and coordinate with guardians and referral sources to ensure accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma and preferably a bachelor's degree in business, along with knowledge of case management and a minimum of 21 years of age.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in business preferred or at least 5 years experience with insurance companies, managed care companies, or Medical Assistance.
• Understanding of case management.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Verify medical insurance benefits for all new admissions and enter this information into the KidsPeace electronic record.
• Review medical expenses charged to insurance or medical assistance benefits and communicate this information to Providers.
• Communicate with client guardians and referral sources as needed to secure updated and accurate information.

Skills

Understanding of case management

Insurance industry experience (5+ yrs)
