Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time, 36 hours per week, with day/night rotation, at the St. Louis, MO location. This role involves direct pediatric patient care and participation in the BJC Nursing Career Ladder to advance within the hospital.

Preferred pediatric nursing experience and RN licensure are required, with a pathway for career progression and benefits.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on illness management and post-treatment home care needs.
• Promotes patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals.
• Communicates plan of care across the continuum of care.
• BJC has deemed this a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on how to manage their illness, including post treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
