Job summary

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Solutions (ESSS), in partnership with the Indian Health Service (IHS), seeks two Pediatric Inpatient Registered Nurses (RNs) to join NNMC in Shiprock, NM. Start date: Aug/Sep 2026. This long-term contract supports pediatric patients in a mission-driven, rural healthcare setting.

Shifts are 12-hour rotating days/nights with a biweekly 36/48-hour schedule. Requires ADN/BSN, RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and IHS/Tribal care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in the U.S. state or territory.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of RN experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient pediatric nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to hospitalized pediatric patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to providers.
• Perform pediatric assessments and respond to status changes.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and adhere to safety standards.
• May float to other inpatient units as needed.

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Solutions (ESSS), in partnership with the Indian Health Service (IHS), is seeking two experienced Pediatric Inpatient Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the healthcare team at Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) in Shiprock, New Mexico. This long-term contract offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality care to pediatric patients while serving Native American communities in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Start Date: August/September 2026

Schedule: Full-time | Day & Night Shifts Available

Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days or Nights)

Hours: 36/48-hour biweekly schedule

Contract Length: Minimum 6 months, with contracts available up to 1 year and additional extension options

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement standards.
• May float to other inpatient units as needed based on patient care requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (ADN or BSN required)
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state or territory
• Minimum of 2–3 years of RN experience
• Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient pediatric nursing experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems required
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Previous experience with Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal Health, or underserved populations preferred
• Required immunizations must be current
• Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States
• Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
