Job summary

Vanderbilt Health, part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, seeks a PRN Staff Pharmacist for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital inpatient pharmacy in Nashville.

You will verify orders, prepare and dispense pediatric medications, and support pharmacotherapy through reconciliation and clinical decision support. This role requires active collaboration with pharmacy, nursing and medical teams, participation in code/trauma response, and adherence to hospital policy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in Tennessee (LIC-Pharmacist License) required.
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required for this PRN/inpatient role.
• Relevant work experience in hospital/pharmacy settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drug orders and prescriptions to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.
• Verify and dispense medications and provide drug information to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Perform medication reconciliation and support pharmacotherapy decisions.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing and medical teams; participate in code/trauma responses.
• Adapt to PRN shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
