Job summary

Good Shepherd Pediatrics in Bethlehem seeks a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient pediatric unit, managing patient stays from admission to transfer and coordinating with the care team.

The NP will provide high-quality, family-centered care in a busy setting, conduct daily rounds, order and interpret tests, and collaborate with physicians, nurses and case management to support discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program required.
• 1–2 years of Critical Care experience required.
• 1–2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
• Certification as Nurse Practitioner required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds on assigned inpatients to assess patient status, prescribe, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Perform advanced clinical assessment of assigned patients for clinical interventions.
• Performs initial evaluation, history and physical exam on all assigned patients to support the admission process.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Coordinate a smooth transition to aftercare by contacting family/treating physicians as identified.
