Job summary

The University of Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital seeks a 90–100% Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP/PA) to join the IMCU. This role involves 12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights/weekends, and independent clinical decision-making for neonates to young adults with step‑down or progressive care needs.

The APP will work within an interdisciplinary team to optimize care delivery, reduce length of stay, and enhance patient and family outcomes in a 24/7 hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Master's in nursing or related PA program; DNP preferred.
• Current pediatric certification and applicable state license.
• Independent practitioner with collaborative practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients with history, exams, and diagnostics.
• Plan and implement treatment programs for pediatric patients.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions in intermediate care.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges for continuity.
