Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for rotating night shifts. The schedule consists of 4 nine-hour shifts with some night work and on-call requirements. A minimum of 2 years nursing practice experience is required for consideration.

The role emphasizes comprehensive patient care, family education, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within a pediatric specialty setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments and uses appropriate assessment tools.
• Develops or individualizes plans of care with family participation.
• Creates teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs.
• Performs nursing care according to protocols and procedures.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the family and team.
• Keeps up to date with nursing practice and literature.
