Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Registered Nurse I (RN I) in Oklahoma City to deliver high-quality nursing care in a hospital setting under general supervision. The RN I progresses from novice to competent, applying nursing theory and critical thinking to support patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, collaborating with physicians, and coordinating care with family members.

Qualifications

• Education requirements: ADN or BSN.
• 0–3 years of patient care experience.
• Current RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting changes in physician order on assigned patients.
• Assists physician in examination and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
• Adminsisters medication as prescribed.
• Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Informs patient and family of hospital procedures and care plan during care and at discharge.
