Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a pediatric and ICU setting at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Tennessee. You will apply therapeutic communication, maintain a safe environment, and plan individualized care with an interdisciplinary team.

The role includes rotating in charge nurse duties, staff assignments based on acuity, and serving as a clinical resource while ensuring timely information sharing with physicians, staff, and patients.

Qualifications

• RN licensure by TN Board of Nursing or compact state
• Current BLS certification
• PALS required within 6 months
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Pediatric ICU, Adult ICU or Pediatric ICU experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and report patient symptoms and changes with detailed records
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient condition
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response and condition
• Consult with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans
• Monitor patient care in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting
• Instruct patients, families, or groups on care, disease processes, and discharge instructions

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• You will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients conditions while maintaining accurate and detailed records

• You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients condition.

• You will modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions.

• You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.

• You will monitor all aspects of patient care in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting

• You will instruct individuals, families, or other groups on patient care and disease process and discharge instructions

What qualifications you will need:

• RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.

• Current BLS

• PALS required within 6 months

• 1 year of RN experience required

• Pediatric ICU, Adult ICU or Pediatric experience highly preferred
