Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Tennessee. The role emphasizes safe, therapeutic nursing practice, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to hospital mission and vision.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, interpreting tests, adjusting care plans, and educating patients and families on care and discharge procedures.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in TN or compact state.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Peds/Adult ICU or Pediatric experience preferred.

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response.
• Coordinate with healthcare team to assess and implement care plans.
• Oversee all aspects of patient care in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Instruct patients and families on care and discharge instructions.

Education

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• You will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions while maintaining accurate and detailed records
• You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
• You will modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• You will monitor all aspects of patient care in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting
• You will instruct individuals, families, or other groups on patient care and disease process and discharge instructions

What qualifications you will need:

• RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
• Current BLS
• PALS required within 6 months
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Pediatric ICU, Adult ICU or Pediatric experience highly preferred
