Job summary

Bayhealth in Dover, Delaware is seeking a per diem Pediatric Hospitalist to join our pediatric team. The role focuses on delivering age- and specialty-appropriate care with a collaborative, patient-centered approach in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has completed pediatric residency and holds BE/BC in pediatrics with MD or DO degrees, and is committed to excellence in teaching, leadership and professional development within Bayhealth's integrated care network.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Completion of a pediatric residency program.
• BE/BC in pediatrics.
• CSR & DEA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver age- and specialty-appropriate medical care through assessment, evaluation, diagnosing, recognition and prevention of adverse events, treatment and follow-up.
• Performs responsibilities in four areas of practice – clinician, teacher, leadership and professional development.
• Collaborates with colleagues and other professional disciplines to ensure safe, effective, efficient and value added patient centered care and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Continuously monitors quality patient care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
• Provides leadership in the practice location and throughout Bayhealth.
• Possesses excellent communication skills with patient, family, caregivers, multidisciplinary team members, medical staff members, and all employees.
• Keeps quality and safety in the forefront in the delivery of patient care.
• Participates/supports the integrated continuum of care of patients within Bayhealth.
• In addition to job description requirements, incumbents must also meet minimum criteria for medical staff privileges.

We offer various practice settings throughout Kent and Sussex Counties. Bayhealth Medical Center Kent Campus is 90 minutes from Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Baltimore . Our Sussex Campus is 30 minutes to the Delaware beaches and relaxation in the sand!
