Job summary

Henry Ford Health System in Michigan is seeking a pediatric hospitalist to join our team. The role involves rounding on well-newborns and pediatric inpatients, seeing pediatric consults in the ED, and co-managing postoperative patients across Henry Ford Macomb and West Bloomfield sites.

The position requires completion of an ACGME/AOA pediatrics residency, board-eligible or board-certified in general pediatrics (pediatric hospital medicine certification preferred), and current PALS/NRP

Qualifications

• Must have completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Pediatrics Residency Program.
• Board eligible/board certified in general pediatrics; board eligible/certified in pediatric hospital medicine preferred.
• Current PALS and NRP certification are required.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to JEDI principles

Responsibilities

• Rounding on well-newborns and pediatric inpatients.
• Seeing pediatric consults in the emergency room and co-managing post-operative surgical patients.
• Shifts include weekdays, weeknights, weekends; 12-hour shifts during a 2-week pay period.

The pediatric hospitalist is expected to work 6 shifts (12 hours each) in a 2-week pay period. The shifts are divided between Henry Ford Macomb and Henry Ford West Bloomfield and include weekdays, weeknights and weekend days and nights. Responsibilities include rounding on well-newborns, pediatric inpatients, seeing pediatric consults in the emergency room and co-managing post-operative surgical patients.

Shifts run 7A-7P and 7P-7A. The average census (a combination of pediatrics and newborns) is 15 at West Bloomfield and 10 at Macomb.

Qualifications

Must have completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Pediatrics Residency Program.

Board eligible/board certified in general pediatrics, required. Board eligible/board certified in pediatric hospital medicine, preferred.

Current PALS and NRP certification are required.
