Job summary

Iowa Home Care in West Des Moines is seeking a Pediatric Staff Nurse to deliver compassionate, skilled nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes. You will follow physician-directed care plans, administer treatments, and collaborate with a dedicated care team to support each child in a familiar setting.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN licensed in Iowa.
• 1–2 years of pediatric experience in acute hospital or home health care preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing standards as set by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care according to the physician’s plan and established nursing standards.
• Conduct home visits and shifts, assessing client conditions, recording vitals, and noting changes.
• Administer nursing procedures, manage medications, and provide treatments following physician orders and scope of practice.
• Promote a safe environment by educating families on home safety, infection control, and fall prevention.
• Maintain clear communication with the RN Case Manager and other team members to coordinate and enhance care quality.
• Document all care delivery accurately and in a timely manner.
• Train families in home care practices and collaborate creatively to meet care objectives.
