The University of Virginia is seeking a Clinical Director for Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy. The candidate will oversee clinical programs, teach, and provide patient care alongside a collaborative team at a top children's hospital, contributing to groundbreaking research in a desirable location.
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalently trained physician to serve as Clinical Director for Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy. The candidate will join our growing Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and lead the development of the clinical program in partnership with division, department, and institutional leadership.
The appointee will join an outstanding Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team with expertise in malignant and non-malignant hematologic disorders, pediatric sarcomas, embryonal tumors, CNS malignancies, as well as stem cell transplant, CAR T cell, and immunotherapy. The environment is highly collaborative, within the University of Virginia.
The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, align with our values of professionalism, integrity, accountability, excellence, and respect. Ideal candidates will have deep clinical expertise in autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants, CAR T cell infusions, and related toxicities, as well as experience in program development towards FACT accreditation. Responsibilities include outpatient and inpatient care, teaching, clinical/translational research, and mentorship.
The appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with competitive compensation and benefits. Board Certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with additional training in stem cell transplant and cellular therapy is required. The candidate should possess strong clinical skills and the ability to connect with children, families, and staff.
