Job summary

NYU Langone Health’s Roth lab in Pediatric Hematology / Oncology is recruiting a Research Technician to join a team of technicians, graduate students, clinicians, and post-doctoral fellows. The role focuses on understanding the immune landscape surrounding lymphoma and identifying novel immune targets.

The candidate will perform high-throughput analyses, PCR, flow cytometry, and murine xenograft work, with a BS in Life Sciences and 1 year of experience. A strong communicator is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Life Sciences or related field with one year of experience
  • Advanced (beyond basic lab training) will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring PI
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required

Responsibilities

  • Lab procedures - high throughput transcriptomic and proteomic analysis to identify novel targets for lymphoma therapies, T cell culture and co-culture with functional and descriptive assays, in vitro drug treatment experiments, harvesting and preparation of samples for downstream analyses, murine xenograft studies to evaluate new agents for the treatment of lymphoma
  • Technical tasks - wet laboratory techniques including PCR, RT-PCR, Western blotting, cell culture, flow cytometry. Mouse work includes generating xenografts, administering biologics, and toxicity analysis. Flow cytometry and RNA-sequencing
  • Communication/Relationship with Others - Cooperates, communicates and relates well to all levels of Medical Center. Listens carefully to others to respond appropriately, answer questions or obtain needed information
  • Judgment/Decision-Making - Recognizes problems as they occur; applies policy/procedure to determine solutions; seeks guidance and informs appropriate personnel
  • Minimum 2-year commitment.
