Job summary
University of Washington is seeking a Research Scientist/Engineer 3 (ES UAW Research) – Research Audiologist to lead pediatric hearing research efforts. You will design and implement studies, analyze complex data, and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications while mentoring staff and students in research best practices.
The role emphasizes collaborations with clinicians and external partners to advance evidence-based pediatric hearing care and NIH‑funded projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Audiology or related field with four years of pediatric research experience.
- Experience with pediatric cochlear implant populations and hearing science.
- Proficiency in SPSS, R, SAS or equivalent and data analysis.
- NIH human subjects protections knowledge and publication experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures: behavioral audiograms, OAEs, tympanometry, speech perception, and psychoacoustic measures.
- Recruit subjects via UW pool and Seattle Children’s Hospital clinicians.
- Obtain informed consent and communicate with participants’ caregivers.
- Maintain longitudinal database and collaborate on IRB documents and funding reports.
- Mentor research staff, trainees, and students in research methods.
