The department of Otolaryngology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 3 to join their team.
Reporting to Dr. Horn, the Research Scientist/Engineer 3 is responsible for compliance, contributing to grant development and peer-reviewed publications, presenting research findings at professional conferences, and mentoring research staff, trainees, and students in research methods and best practices. Through scientific judgment and technical leadership, this position plays a critical role in advancing the Department’s federally funded pediatric hearing research program and supporting the University’s research mission. The Research Scientist/Engineer 3 – Research Audiologist serves as a scientific investigator supporting NIH-funded research focused on hearing development, speech perception, language outcomes, and auditory performance in infants and young children with cochlear implants. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, this position provides advanced scientific and technical expertise in pediatrics by independently designing, implementing, and evaluating research studies; selecting and adapting research methodologies; analyzing and interpreting complex hearing science clinical and experimental data; and ensuring the scientific integrity of research activities.
The position collaborates with multidisciplinary investigators, clinicians, and external research partners to advance innovative research initiatives, improve research methodologies, and contribute to the development of evidence-based clinical practices.
